WMPS being a Memphis radio station whose DJs were called the Good Guys, which actually makes me wonder if Memphis is a lot of the point of the shirt, with the KKK threats in '66 and the cherry bomb.

Yes, I had seen that blog post as well. To be honest I had dismissed it until I saw the magazine article that corroborates it.
My main point when I wrote the article was to demonstrate, again, the myriad versions of Sgt Pepper related tales and how they differ. Peter Blake will give one version and then an alternate account will crop up. You never know what's real and what is spin.
Your post about Memphis, Eygpt is intriguing. Some time ago I proposed a theory about imagining if a compass was superimposed over the Sgt Pepper Cover. In that scenario, two of the 33 degree freemasons, H G Wells and Karl Marx, are found at a point 33 degrees away from the centre. I always thought this was to obvious to be an accident and it set me thinking about the placements of the Shirley 'Temples'.
You have a hidden temple in the west, obscured by the wax Beatles, and two temples to the east. I always assumed that was a reference to the Temple of Solomon but maybe they were refering to Eygpt instead?

Apollo said that Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane would absolutely be part of Sgt Pepper in terms of the mystery.
On my SFF reversed video, I went with the party line Sleepy Red Moose and We'll Sing it man, we'll be reverse until somebody hit me with a comment that the real line backwards is The Pharoahs lead the rebels. And once you listen, you hear it.

I recently came across this information on a blog site but I shall repeat as it seems quite interesting. In a new video from Beyonce she appears to be wearing the insignia of the RAOB - The Royal Antideluvian Order of the Buffaloes - and displaying their motto, Justice, Truth, Philanthropy! The RAOB insignia can be seen at the bottom of the picture and the slogans appear at the top, above the image of Jay Z. Below is a picture of an RAOB medal displaying the motto. Not sure what the significance, if any, there is, however Jay Z has often been accused of employing masonic symbolism and this seems to be another example. Alternatively, 2013 will see the 66th anniversary of the death of the Great Beast 666, Aleister Crowley so maybe if we want to know the real meaning behind the use of the RAOB character on Sgt Pepper we should ask Jay Z! beaconfilms2011.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/beyonce-and-raob.html

Well the 33:55 power outage was certainly a nice trick!

A lot of it was gibberish to me, but towards the middle I hear, "There's a war in Vietnam, and you wanted it, and you wanted it."

Just a quick update, Mary May, the competition winner commented on the blog piece recently. Here is what she said... Mary May: It's WMPS. I made the sweater. That is I bought it and sewed on the letters. Me: Wow, thanks for that. Can you give me some more info about how you came to make it, why, and how you felt when you saw it on the Sgt. Pepper cover? Mary May: I'd be happy to tell you. I made the shirt as an entry in a contest to meet the Rolling Stones during their November 17, 1965 concert in Memphis, Tennessee. I bought the child sized shirt and sewed on felt letters that I cut out to spell out "The WMPS Good Guys Welcome the Rolling Stones." It originally was mounted on a wooden form so that it could be held up. When I found out that I was one of the winners of the contest I picked up the shirt from the radio station and took it with me, (sans the wooden support), when I met the Stones. In the course of conversation, Mick Jagger noticed the shirt I was holding and asked if it was for him. I said of course he could have it. He held it up and that was the last that I saw of it! I was later interviewed by Ann Hill for Hit Parader magazine. The story was in the August, 1966 edition. When the Sergeant Pepper album came out in May of 1967, someone at the radio station recognized the shirt. I first found out when I read about this in a local newspaper. There was no photograph in the paper, so I rushed out to the closest record store as soon as the album was released to check it out. There was my shirt I living color! Needless to say I was shocked, thrilled..... add any other expletives of disbelief! I did write a letter at one time to the record company inquiring about the whereabouts of the shirt. That being in the day of snail mail and the absence of the internet I really did not know how to pursue my research. I would really like to know what happened to that shirt. I heard some years back that the cover was recreated somewhere. I wondered if the shirt was included. I would love to see it again if not to have it back. Do you know anything of its whereabouts? By the way, I still have the newspaper article and the Hit Parader magazine as well as my Stones autographs on the concert program. Thanks for your interest in the story of my "claim to fame."

Isn't I'm Down supposed to be either 3rd or 6th? It's 2nd here... The other difference is that 15. The Fool On The Hill doesn't have Demo in parentheses. Also the 2 lines beyond Apple Star are not full justified (the right side stops short) like every other line is, not professionally done imo...

Right, I'm Down should be 3rd or 6th...I'm not sure why they would have taken the trouble to fake this AND move I'm Down up the order but the purpose of this blog was to try and draw IAAP out. Provide some fresh evidence or admit it was all bs. No luck yet though!!! Thanks for the heads up about the missing (Demo). Missed that.

Well the broken formatting after Apple Star has me now believing they edited a standing file...again they have great access but what I see is someone edited something and didn't know what they were breaking in the process...I'm sure the Beatles normal production team wouldn't miss something so basic...its dubious. Plus, doesn't the problem of three Lennon songs in a row still exist if I'm Down is 2nd? Why would they move it from 6th and yet not fix the problem?
Hopefully IAAP responds!
